Dr. Natalie Betlachin completed her B.A. in Sociology at the California State University, Northridge. She completed her M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of LaVerne in LaVerne, California, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Betlachin provided clinical treatment at Tarzana Treatment Centers and then transitioned to conducting forensic assessments at Patton State Hospital and administering cognitive/personality evaluations at LA+USC Inpatient Psychiatry Unit.
Dr. Betlachin completed her APA accredited internship at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (USMCFP) in Springfield, Missouri. While at USMCFP she worked providing clinical treatment for a variety of clinical issues, administered forensic evaluations for Federal courts, and administered competency restoration treatment. She also provided treatment for substance abuse and administered evaluations related to appropriateness for various medical procedures.
Upon completion of her doctoral degree, Dr. Betlachin worked as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and Treatment Specialist at the Federal Correctional Institute, Terminal Island. While at Terminal Island, Dr. Betlachin provided treatment to individuals addressing dual-diagnosis issues. Dr. Betlachin then went to work for the LA County Sheriff’s Department. While at LASD, Dr. Betlachin provided individual and couples therapy to department employees, their significant others and their families. Dr. Betlachin is trained in EMDR and EFT modalities. This experience fostered current specializations related to individual issues (stress, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, general life satisfaction) and couples issues (infidelity, intimacy problems, trust, communication, parenting).
